Our Clay sessions allow you freedom to create with clay from scratch by hand, it is so therapeutic to work with.
At Fired 4 U we offer many opportunities for you to discover and develop your creative skills with; pottery painting, clay sessions, copper enameling, foam clay decoration, team building, birthday parties, mini potters pre school sessions, special events, Paint at home kits and adults evening classes.
Your clay session
Whether you have worked with clay before or not before you will be able to make one of 3 options we give you
We can explain the different hand build techniques which you can use and show you some samples of pieces we have made so you can see what it looks like going from a lump of clay to something amazing.
Your session will last for up to 2 hours.
We will provide you with a piece of clay (about a pound in weight) which you will then work with to your creation. You have 3 options when coming on a first time clay visit to us.
Try a slab pot – at taller pot or a coil pot – a funky shape shorter pot or a Squeeze pot bowl or a flat plaque with a raised design. This last one could become a 3D picture to hang on the wall or turn it into a wall clock or Cut your intial letter using our cutters and decorate it with raised clay shapes
You have the use of our clay tools and a range of cutters to form decorative shapes to add to your piece.
Once you have finished you then leave your clay creation with us to dry out for 3 weeks and we will fire it 4 U. You can return to Fired 4 U to paint your creation on another up to 2 hour session to finish it and then leave it as usual to be glazed and Fired 4 U.

How to Book and Prices
You Clay hand building sessions can be booked Wednesday to Friday Day times. Or for Saturday mornings only on our set dates – please see the booking page for dates . To book in for mid week sessions please phone us on 01772 20 30 60
Your table must be booked in advance for this activity to ensure we have the right provisions and staff on duty to assist you.
The cost of a hand build session is £38 pp. Places must be booked in advance with 50% deposit paid, remainder paid on the clay making day. Specific workshops vary in price.
We run an evening session for Adults only, twice a month on a Wednesday during this it is also possible to do create with clay or do the pottery painting activity.
We also run special clay workshops during which we teach you a specific project to create by hand. Information is on our Special events and classes page.

Please note
1. This will be all done by hand, if you are looking for lessons on the Potters wheel please read here
2. If some pieces are made more solid than others they may take longer to dry out and therefore firing will be delayed. If this happens we will advise you.
3. Occasionally items can break when they dry out and also when fired in the kiln. If this occurs we will invite you back to make a new creation.
