FAQ's at Fired 4 U

What does it cost?
we charge a studio fee for each person painting to cover the use of the brushes, decorating tools, the paints, time in the studio and the glazing and firing of the items of £3.75.

How much is the pottery?
These range from £5 for cute animal pottery ornaments up to £18 for tall pottery vases. Plates range from £5.50-£16 and money boxes from £6 to 10 just to give you an idea

How long does it take to paint the pottery?
Depending on ages of the painters this activity can last from about an hour up to 2 hours. Usually we find age 7 years and upwards will take up to 2 hours..... a great way to spend a morning or afternoon! 

Can you use the plates and mugs after painting?
Yes once the items are glazed and fired they are classed as food safe. The glaze seals the pottery so that food and liquids are not absorbed in to the pots.

When do we collect the pottery?
Your pottery will be ready to collect the same day the following week. If for any reason it wont be ready in time we will call you to let you know when it will be ready.

How much do parties cost?
This depends on the Pottery Painting Package you choose. Please see www.fired4u.co.uk/page5.htm

Do you do pottery painting sessions for Groups such as Rainbows / Beavers / Cubs/ Brownies/ Guides and Scouts?
Yes we do. You can come to the studio with your group or we can come out to your venue at your normal meeting time.

Can we put the pottery in the dishwasher?
Yes you can but keep the items from touching each other so that they are not hit in the washing process as this can cause the items to chip.

Can we put the pottery in the microwave or oven?
Yes but as the pottery is made from earthern ware clay it does absorb heat so use a cloth to lift the items out.

Do we need to book a table in advance?
We can normally accommodate people most times.
If you need a table for more than 4 people its often best to book.
If its a wet day or in half term holidays it can be adviseable to book even if its just on the day
In half term it is normally quiet from 3pm onwards but this can vary.

Is there parking at the Fired 4 U?
Yes you can park at the front of the studio or any where at the side and its FREE for you

Do you provide food?
We have Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Fruit Shoots and usually Twix available for purchase whilst you paint or you can drop in for a brew when we are quiet.
We dont have catering facitilities in the studio however;

Sandwiches and buffets are available at Country Fresh on the next street ideal for party food
Pizza's are available from Mi Casa next door from 5pm mid week and 4pm at weekends
Blue Ocean ( Indian) next door is open each evening from 5pm
Fish and Chips are coming soon next door.
Pinochio's Italian is 100 yards along the road open for lunches and dinners
